About CamerasRUs

What we do

CamerasRUs collects the specifications that actually affect what you buy — sensor size, resolution, video modes, stabilisation, viewfinder, screen, microphone input and weight — for cameras sold new in the UK, and presents them so you can filter, compare and shortlist quickly.

How we check specs

• Specs come from the manufacturer's own pages (UK pages where they exist). Each camera page lists those sources and the date we checked them.
• If a maker doesn't clearly state something, we leave it blank ("—") rather than guess.
• Launch years come from the sources listed on each camera page; where we couldn't confirm one we leave it out.
• Photos are freely licensed images credited to their photographers, or simple illustrations where no suitable photo exists.

What we don't do

• We don't publish star ratings, review scores or "best camera" rankings we can't back up. Our picks are shortlists worked out from the specs, and each states its rule.
• We don't show prices, because they change daily — follow the shop links for current prices.
• We haven't lab-tested these cameras. Where we describe who a camera suits, that is our editorial judgement based on its specs.
